El Toro Carniceria: Authentic Mexican Meat Shop & Tacos in Santa Ana

This place is authentic. We took friends here they loved it. I personally didn't like the jamaica but they did. I also thought the potato tacos needed fresh oil. Beans were amazing. We had carnitas. They were excellent. Hand made tortillas.

Food was very good, this place was very busy. After eating it was obviously because the food was hot and delicious.

Great food and great prices!! The owners and employees are totally cool very nice people thank you for the TICTOC ice cream!!

I had been a few times, but is a really reliable meat market, and great product, I was looking for chicharron de Puerco and I found it there, was really good, definitely going back, I hope soon.

Let me start by saying that I've been living in santa ana for 10 years and i have been looking for the best tacos in all of orange county. I discovered el toro right when i moved to Santa Ana, however i feel like i didn't appreciate it for what it was. Now that i have tried all kinds of taco trucks, taco stands, restaurants friends Grandma's, i still find myself gravitating to el toro. Whenever you come here, there is going to be a line but its well worth it. I always order tripas and mixtiado. The tacos are big, and they pack it with meat, i always make 2 tacos out of 1. The staff is pretty friendly for the most part. El toro has my vote for best tacos in all of orange county or atleast beat meat.

I love El Toro Carnicería. I used to come often when visiting family as a kid. The meat market has a variety of fresh meat and seafood and they sell their freshly made tortillas from their taqueria next door. They have a lot of fresh vegetables and all the products you need to make some good authentic Mexican food. They not only have a taqueria next door, but also a liquor store on the other side. At their taqueria, they sell their flavorful carnitas, tacos, burritos, tamales, and other meats by the pound. I stopped by since I was in the area and still looks like how I remembered it as a child. The taqueria had a big line but it moved quickly. Their tacos were packed with meat and super tasty. Next time I'm in Santa Ana, definitely coming back to buy some carnitas on their own. Check them out if you like freshly prepared food and tortillas or to cook up something delicious!

Love coming to this meat market. Not just because of the prices but also the selectiona ane quality of meat cuts and items you cannot find at your local grocery stores. And next door you can by ready to eat meats, tamales, salsas, tacos and ready to eat entrees. You gotta try this place for the tacos. You haven't visited Santa Ana unless youve been to El Toro.

Update; I didn't know that the ownership changed until now... Well, it's not as good as before, but it's still pretty good, better than most other places. This is the real taco at best! Fresh tortillas wrapping well prepared meats with good pico de Gallo and salsas. I love green salsa or salsa Verde here, and I can almost drink it like an actual drink. The service is a bit crude, but efficient enough. This is a butcher shop, not a sit-down 5 star restaurant. But this is a 6 star meat market. Been coming here since forever, and things have changed here and there, but it stayed mostly the same. But I miss that big wooden butcher block that the workers used to crowd around to chop up the meat and stick their hack knives directly on the block by the corners. The meat cut up on those wooden block tasted better than it is today. But still, this is as good as it gets for tacos. To wash them down with either Jamaica or Tamarindo in the car is a privilege only available in Santa Ana! Gracias amigos.
